Not a lot of time (or energy) for writing, but I wanted to give you an update on how Jude is doing and show you some pictures of our little buddy!
The short version of delivery: After spending Saturday waiting for Jude (still a week out from his due date) Kate awoke Sunday August 10th at 5:00 am to painful contractions three minutes apart. After spending eight hours laboring at home, Kate, my sister Terra and I headed to the hospital around 1:00 pm. Sparing you the details, we spent the next sixteen hours laboring at the hospital. Finally, at 5:30 am Monday August 11th, after twelve hours of non-medicated labor (including some awful back-labor) and zero change in dilation (being stuck at 4) cm), we moved for the epidural. After that things went pretty quickly. Kate, Terra and I were able to rest for a couple hours. Kate’s doctor broke her water and the contractions and dilation picked up. After an hour of pushing Jude Elliot Wulf was born into the world at 4:34 pm August 11th, weighing seven pounds, fifteen ounces and measuring twenty inches long! Following an overnight stay at the Neonatal ICU (NICU), Jude has been doing great! A HUGE “Thank you!” to all of you who have been praying for us through this process–you bless our hearts!
Now on to those pictures I promised you…
