Visa, Visa, Visa

May 4, 2009

The saga continues.  I didn’t see it coming, but the verdict is in: our visas have officially been denied.  Forget the fact that we will contribute to the Netherlands, both financially and socially, because the real issue is that Calvary Chapel is not on the “preferred religious organizations” list that the people who grant visas work with.  Tomorrow Nathan, Anna, Kate and I will be talking with Stan and his wife to figure out what all this means.

Here’s the good news:

– Because we are working to get Calvary Chapel on the Preferred Religious Organizations list, the final granting of visas should clear the way for future Calvary Chapel missionaries to come to the Netherlands.

– We will be allowed to stay in Holland as long as our visa application and appeal process is still in the works.

– The immigration lawyer in our church continues to be optimistic of our being granted visas.

Keep praying!
