Believing the Gospel

November 11, 2010

It used to be that you could ask a Christian, “When did you believe the Gospel?” and both parties knew what it meant.  It meant, when did you become a follower of Jesus, when did you join up, get on-board, sign the dotted line, etc.  Recently for me, and probably for many others in the church, this sort of language has lost its vitality.

In fact, if I may be so bold, I would say much of practices we used to approach as one time events have lost their vigor.  Believing the Gospel, repentance and knowing Jesus have all taken on a much more process oriented look.  Over the next couple days I’m going to explore these ideas a bit more.

First up tomorrow will be the question When did you believe the Gospel?

More to come…
