One of the things we’ve been wondering about our time in Holland is, what specific things will be different?  Maybe if we were in Ghana we’d be expecting a tsunami of change, but being as that we’re going to be in Western Europe, we’re kind of left wondering just how different things will be.

Last Sunday some friends of our who used to live in Holland sent us this list of creature comforts they used to bring back with them after visiting the US:

  • Infant Tylenol
  • Infant Motrin
  • Infants Pediacare decongestant (even my Dutch pediatrician would tell me to stock up on this in the states since they do not have anything equivalent for babies)
  • Little Noses saline spray/drops
  • Mylicon Drops for babies upset tummy
  • Baby Anbesol for teething
  • Bisquick mix
  • Taco Seasoning Packets
  • A1 Steak Sauce
  • Barbecue Sauce
  • French’s Mustard
  • SYRUP!!  (The dutch syrup is extremely thick & tastes like molasses, you will miss American syrup!)
  • Lipton Onion Soup packets
  • Ranch Dressing packets
  • Chocolate chips (outrageously expensive)
  • Brownie mixes
  • Ziploc bags (all sizes)
  • Saran Wrap
  • cupcake liners
  • food coloring (for decorating)
  • Baking Soda
So, the picture begins to fill in.  What will we miss?  What will we crave?  I’m sure we’ll probably add more to the list, but thank you Amy and Ryan for a jump start!
By the way – We’re still praying the Lord opens the door for us to leave in early November.  Keep praying for us!
